CROCS
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The goal of this project was to convey Croc’s brand through a more minimalistic visual design.
On Croc’s website, they say their goal is to make the world a happier place, one pair at a time. They plan to do this through creating comfortable footwear & making the process as efficient as possible. Whether that’s by making them more lightweight, softer or more flexible.
The features for this project included: showcasing their products, bestsellers and brand new collections right on the homepage. Allowing potential customer to access the cart throughout the site. Have specific categories for their products & also give customers the ability to search throughout the site.
Target Audience: Young males and females 25 to 35
MY ROLE
Redesigning the homepage for both mobile & desktop platforms; wireframes, personas.
THE PROBLEM
One of the biggest challenges was making the homepage appealing to the eye using a minimal approach, without creating too many distractions.
Some of the challenges included: giving customers a faster way of discovering products when searching, adding functionality for changing the quantity of the products without having to go to the checkout page, and adding more social proof throughout the website.
THE SOLUTION
The solutions I added included: limiting the amount of files on each page to increase page speed/performance, optimizing the design on mobile devices and more.
Adding the proper CTA for the hero section allows visitors to jump right to summer collection page. One of the biggest issues with visitor retention is whe there are no indicators as to what they should do.
Updates are still coming for this aspect.
THE RESULTS
Project is still in development and features are being tested and added periodically.
The ultimate goal is have a specific color collection and branding style guide for all 4 seasons.
FUTURE PLANS
Goals moving forward are to expand the design to tablet and also improve upon shopping cart flow.
Abandoned shopping carts are one of the biggest issues for eCommerce sites, so the plan would be to add 1-click purchasing functionality.
